UUM ONLINE: Jakarta, Indonesia – Najibnomics, a book published by UUM Press attracted the attention of the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Mr. Muhandir Effendy who officiated the Indonesia International Book Fair (IBF) 2016 on 28 September.

Citing from a report taken from the website called news.detik.com, Mr. Muhadjir was accompanied by the Malaysian Minister of Education, Dato Seri Mahdzir Khalid who also happened to be the guest of honour at the IBF 2016 to view the exhibition booths. The exhibition included the Malaysian booth which was also the guest of honour country at the IBF 2016 held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta.

While spending time at the Malaysian exhibition booth, the book entitled Najibnomics: Transforming Malaysia to a High-Income Nation became the topic of discussion between the two ministers. Dato Seri Mahdzir Khalid then explained that the book discussed the rationale behind the Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak’s idea of economic development.

Mr. Muhadjir then browsed through the book and said that he bought the book as he was interested in it.

"I have already bought this book because I am interested in it as it talks about the economic policy under the leadership of Dato’ Sri Mohammad Najib," said the minister who bought 20 more books, as reported by the news website.

The book entitled Najibnomics: Transforming Malaysia to a High-Income Nation was written by Dr. Irwan Shah Zainal Abidin, a lecturer at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB) UUM.
